Author: Teagan Hunter Genre: NA Romance Pages: 252 Released: 15 September 2020 Series: Roommate Romps #1 Don’t fall for your enemy…especially when he’s your new roommate. Dean Evans is the worst. Not only does the devil in disguise steal my pie on a regular basis, he also lives in the apartment right. Next. Door. I see him all the time. At the mailboxes. In the elevator. Every single morning. It's exhausting because he's exhausting. Now, after setting his apartment on fire, he's my roommate...and he's the worst at that too. I don't know what possessed me to let him stay with me. Pity, perhaps? I do know that I won't be falling for his charm. Or that panty-dropping smirk. His quick wit. That body he works so hard for. Nope. Not falling for any of it...least of all him. There might be a fine line between love and hate, but I know exactly where I stand. As the saying goes - keep your friends close and your enemies closer...
After accidentally setting his apartment on fire (note to self: don't use water on a grease fire), River offers Dean her study to stay while the apartment is fixed. They've been neighbors for over a year and in that entire time they've never gotten along, and now they're living in the same apartment. Big mistake. And while she might have a list of reasons as to why Dean is her enemy, she doesn't deny how hot he is. Again, big mistake letting him live with her. In close quarters, the barriers between them slowly drop, and when the offer is put on the table to become friends with benefits for the duration of his stay, neither want to turn it down. Once again, big mistake. Because no matter how they think they feel about one another, they're about to cross a line they can never come back from... Enemies to lovers AND roommates? Talk about two of my favourite romance tropes coming together in a fun, flirty and steamy read! There's nothing like two people oozing with sexual tension being forced into close quarters with one another. Throw in a cat, a turtle and some pie and you've got yourself a damn good read! Dean and River's relationship was fun with the right about the banter, flirtiness and smut, with a cherry pie on top for good measure. It was one of those books that I just had to get finished to see how it all played out, but at the same time wanting to spend more time with these characters. They were fun to be around and read about, which are the best kinds of bookish characters to have in your life! As always, I'm super excited for Teagan to continue this companion novel series over the next three books - the characters we've been introduced to in this book were all super fun and interesting, so I can't wait to explore more of their stories in the coming books. Plus, you know I'm a sucker for seeing the continuation of Dean and River's story! If you're a new adult romance fan like myself who is a sucker for a good enemies-to-lovers / roommates story, then this is the book for you! You're going to love Dean and River's story and be left craving the next books in the series to follow everyone else. |
